I think everyone has probably been on a trip to a location to only discover a matter of weeks that you were within miles/metres/stood atop a ridiculously rare orchid/beetle/moss. This map should help to make the most out of everyones journeys.

I'm not sure what exactly constitutes highly localised but if it can only be found in one county or in a few particular sites then I think it would be welcomed. It is entirely editable to anyone with the link so please take care with other people's entries. You must be logged into a google account to edit it.
