About me:
Prone to spending rather too much time with my head amongst the leaves of trees, bushes and plants generally, I've been a keen natural historian since childhood. After a brief interlude as a pretentious music/fine art student and also as an accounts bod, when my daughter was a year old, I returned to higher education to embrace my inner-nerdiness, studying first bird biology and then conservation biology/ecology. I'm now Dr. Sally, still with a broad interest in anything and everything but specialising in invertebrate-plant relationships, how non-native species integrate in native foodwebs, and urban ecology. As well as being an active researcher and providing teaching support to undergraduate and masters students, I'm also co-founder of Budding Nature, a natural history/environmental education business.
I live with my lovely Other Half, daughter and menagerie in a little granite cottage in a little granite village in the far, far west of little granite Cornwall.
