About me:
I work as an Estate Officer at Coombe Abbey Country Park (Previously Countryside Ranger). I have a Post Graduate Diploma in Conservation Management (Validated by the University of East Anglia from Otley College of Agriculture & Horticulture Suffolk1992-1994). I also have a 2:1 Environmental Studies Degree from the University of Sunderland Specialising in Wildlife & Countryside Management 1989 -1992. I also have an NVQ Level 3 in Environmental Conservation from Brooksby Melton College. I am a Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv) & Chartered Ecologist (CEcol) status as a full Member of the Chartered Institute of Ecology & Environmental Management (CMIEEM). I am also a Forest School Practitioner Level 3 Qualified. I regularly go on Training with CMIEEM & other occasional Courses with the Field Studies Council eg Macro-Fungi Identification with Geoffery Kibby. I am a Keen Birder, I know my Trees & Shrubs, I'm a reasonable botanist, I enjoy amateur field Mycology, I am Programme Secretary for Rugby Natural History Society & Organise a Programme of Field Visits to suitable wildlife sites in Vice County 38 Warwickshire & Surrounding Counties. I have a presence on Facebook & Linked in & am a member of a lot of Biodiversity related Groups, also Bushcraft & Survival Skills that rely on effective field identification skills. I regularly visit Portland Bird Observatory & Field Studies Centre in Dorset in the Spring & Autumn each year & in the summer when I can get enough time off work. I am continually improving my field Identification skills and enjoy learning new skills from others as well as passing on my own skills to others. I run a Birding & Field-craft Lecture Programme at the Percival Guild House Adult Education Centre in Rugby Warwickshire in the Spring & Autumn Terms.
