About me:
I used to compile bird, moth and butterfly lists as a teenager, have always found nature to be a great way of taking the edge off the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune and pan-species listing will be a great way to add a new dimension to that. I like to eat, spend time in nature, run long distances, whittle and many other things. I have an addictive personality and so anything I enjoy I tend to obsess about for a while, sometimes with horrific consequences, sometimes with fabulous consequences (i.e. ultra running adventures, being in a band, travelling etc.) I am a Christian and have been for a little over 2 years now - never thought I would be but when God comes calling it's not really something you can ignore
Age:
34
My bogey species:
Chequered Skipper. Most frequently occuring birds I've not seen are probably Red-throated Pipit, Broad-billed Sandpiper and Red-eyed Vireo.... well, I suppose there's the Shetland specialities too but seeing them involves going to Shetland in the Autumn; something I never have the dosh for!
My most wanted:
Ivory Gull, loads of others - will update soon
My grippers:
I've seen a few birds that aren't too shabby - Yellow-breasted Bunting is apparently quite a gripping one these days, Yellow-browed Bunting, Black-and-White Warbler, Northern Waterthrush, Grey-tailed Tattler to name just a few. Red-headed Chestnut moth, Camberwell Beauty.... can't think of any others off the top of my head
Latest addition:
Birch Polypore, Springy Turf Moss, Hazel Glue, Danish Scurvy Grass and Metzgeria Furcata to name a few. Edging towards 1,000 overall species slowly but surely
