Cladonia zopfii. This is a species that can resemble Cladonia uncialis closely. Lichens occurring on a heath in Surrey were long thought to be it. If the branches are split, the centres are striate within but smooth in C. uncialis. It is rare and I have only seen it on shingle in Scotland. This photograph was taken at Kootwijk in the Netherlands.
