Cladonia firma

Cladonia firma. This is another species that grows in short turf near the sea. It occurs in Western Britain north to the Shetland Islands, but is occasional. It can be separated from similar species in that the underside of the lobes is tinged a very pale purplish blue. This photograph was taken on Le Rondil de Poulec in Jersey.
