Caloplaca lucifuga

Caloplaca lucifuga. While going through Caloplacas I have no photos for this morning, I found I had not put up Caloplaca lucifuga. It consists of rather bright, golden coloured and separated soralia on a difuse and insignificant thallus. It appears to be having a bit of a crash dive, being impossible to find in several well known sites on the borders of England and Wales in the late 1990s. It occurs especially on mature oaks. This photograph was taken on an oak tree in Cardiganshire in Wales in 2001.
