Caloplaca littorea

Caloplaca littorea. Those with a sharp eye should be able to see that this example is fertile. It is similar to C. granulosa, but a different colour, and never ever has marginal lobes. The shape of the abundant isidia is also different. This particular example was photographed in a hollow below the entrance bridge to Grosnez Castle in Jersey. It is not a common species, and in Jersey it has one other site.
