About me:
A recently transplanted Londoner in Edinburgh. Likes birds, bugs, beetles and bryophytes. (Still to get to grips with bats, basidiomycetes and bryozoa)
Age:
My bogey species:
An embarassing list of relatively common birds I've missed on a few occasions (maybe one day): Rough-legged Buzzard, Goshawk, Baillon's Crake, Jack Snipe, Hoopoe, Wryneck, Two-barred Crossbill. And the Sickle-bearing Bush-cricket which I spent several hours hunting for as part of a group in the patch where the colony had been seen near Hastings the year before (almost certainly wiped out now by the recent cold winters).
My most wanted:
Pine Marten, The Timberman, Cixius caledonicus, Ledra aurita, Saperda scalaris, loads more
My grippers:
Doubt they count as grippers but some species I was particularly chuffed to find or see: Bridled Tern, Large Marsh Grasshopper, Slender Marsh-bedstraw, Bog Orchid, Down Shieldbug, Grammoptera abdominalis & Prionus corarius
Latest addition:
Devil's Bit Scabious (missed this on the list somehow), Bilberry Bumblebee (Bombus monticola), New Zealand Willowherb, Sticky Groundsel, Invisible Spider (Drapetisca socialis), Square Spot Rustic (moth), Oak Nycteoline (moth), Hadroplontus litura (weevil), Plums and Custard (fungus), Basking Shark!!!
