About me:
Very much an amateur, self-taught naturalist who has an unrelated Monday to Friday, 9 to 5 office job. Moved to where I am now, Waldridge Fell, Co. Durham in the late 1990s. Though I have kept records of birds since childhood, it wasn't until I moved to my current house, that I have been logging other things, mainly in the county and especially in my 'patch'. My interests grew from birds to flora, then butterflies, dragonflies, moths, hoverflies and currently mosses & liverworts. In 2013 I did the 1000 for 1Ksq challenge, to see how many species I could find in a 1 kq square. This I really enjoyed and armed with more reference books and keys than my bookcases can handle and a second hand microscope, I really surprised myself by getting 1,109 species. I've just finished going through my notebooks and Mapmate, so thats it, I think. Any additions really are new. I had a blog which I'm far too lazy to update http://http://waldridgenaturalist.blogspot.co.uk/ though I put the odd thing on my Chesterbirder facebook page
