Sutton Hoo (NT)

A small 57 ha estate in East Suffolk, acquired for the Anglo-Saxon burial ground, home to one of the greatest archaeological discoveries of all time. It has some excellent acid grasslands, plus SSSI saltmarsh and mudflats along the River Deben, some wet woodland with Alder/Willow and some newer planted conifer/mixed woodlands. Only the vascular flora has been surveyed in detail and all of the other taxon groups are likely to produce many more species.
