Classic large (664 ha) National Trust Estate in North Norfolk. The Great Wood and part of the parkland is SSSI, with a number of veteran beech and oak trees. Most grasslands are improved, but there are interesting acid and wet grasslands near the Lake. The Lake and its associated margins has the main wetland interesting, along with the small streams and a scatter of ponds (including some restored 'ghost' ponds). Extensive arable farmland, some of which holds good arable plant life. Likely to be much more to discover about the invertebrate life (especially Hymenoptera), beetles (538 spp) and moths (497 spp) have the highest species count so far.
