About me:
Hello
My name is Mike Bryant and I am a full time ecologist and volunteer Lay Badger Vaccinator based in Cheshire/Derbyshire.
I have been studying nature for as long as I can remember, having both a passion for observing and photographing the natural world around us. I have often kept garden and UK bird species lists, as well as lists compiled from trips abroad, but have often considered starting a list of all native species I have seen.
It was after reading an article in British Wildlife in 2014 that first brought my attention to Pan Species Listing. After looking into it some more I decided that I would begin the task of compiling my list of species that I have observed over the last 20 years or so.
The biggest appeal of Pan Species Listing for me in that not only does it provide you with the opportunity to contact likeminded people, but as a professional ecologist and naturalist it will continue to push me to increase my knowledge of British nature.
My main areas of interest are mammals, fish and herptiles and I can be found out in the early hours of the morning trapping and vaccinating badgers against TB.
