The Nationally Scarce pirate spider Ero aphana found marauding inside my bathroom in York on 30 May (first record for all Yorkshire and apparently most northerly record in the UK so far - it's been spreading northwards in recent years). Has the sinister strategy of tapping on other spiders' webs to draw out the occupant before devouring it.
