Cladonia cervicornis ssp. verticillata. In this subspecies, Cladonia cervicornis produces upright podecia ofyen in a series of stages, and these can support apothecia. It occurs in the same habitats as Cladonia verticillata, and is common. Some have separated it as a separate species. this photograph was taken at Gasteren in the Netherlands.
