Cladonia arbuscula. This species differs from C. portentosa in that the branches are all secund, that is they lean together in one direction . In Cladonia arbuscula, the majority of branches throughout a single plant all bend the same way as here. It is a relatively frequent species, but perhaps not seen as much as Cladonia portentosa. It occurs in heatland and acid grassland. This photograph was taken in the grounds of Dungeness Power Station.
