Chance for a UK first?

Well, a first colony perhaps...

See http://www.rothamsted.ac.uk/insect-survey-resources/new-rhododendron-aphids-move for more details but the short version is that there's increasing evidence that a new species of Rhododendron aphid is now well established in the UK after first being recorded from a Rothamsted suction-trap in 2011. This year it's turned up in five different traps (one has been found from the trap at Preston, Lancs. since the article was published) from widespread locations.

Keep an eye out - I'd be more than happy to double-check any potential candidates for a first 'on the ground' record.
