This is where I work and live. Amongst other duties, I'm both the maintenence guy and the gardener/groundskeeper, so I tend to see plenty of bits and bobs - everywhere from the loftspaces to beneath the floorboards when indoors, to the lawns, trees, woodshed and streams when outside. I've been here since December 2016. There are several large lawns, plenty of mature Wych Elms and a nice assortment of buildings/outbuildings to rummage through. A couple of small streams (burns) burble along the boundaries to the site and the bottom of my garden is a bit of an overgrown waterlogged boggy area. I could attain a decent list with a bit of effort. An initial glance through my home 1km square list (Feb 2018) suggests an absolute minimum total of 181 species, this will quickly grow.
I've started running a light trap as of Feb '18, which should substantially increase the invert counts. I'm not counting overflying birds, only those actually settled within the grounds. Dicey, huh?
